Front: 112ft Schooner "Ernestina" (built 1894 as "Effie M. Morrissey"; 1948 sold to Cape Verde; 1982 donated by the government of Cape Verde to the USA as a symbol of cooperation between the two governments.)

Reverse: De Havilland DHC-6-300 (Callsign D4-CAX; built 1977) of Cabo Verde Airlines on Ilha do Sal (Amilcar Cabral) International Airport Crashed on San Francisco Mendes International Airport (Praia) on 28.09.1998. On Board: 3 crew, 19 passengers (among them also Prime Minister Carlos Veiga). One passenger died (bodyguard of Veiga). The aircraft was a total loss.
