Isles of France and of Bourbon

Between 2001 and 2005, a new set of notes in denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 kronur was issued. In 2012, the Danmarks National Bank introduced an updated version with new security features such as Motion windowed security threads, mother-of-pearl threads, and registration devices. 

Mauritius, formerly known as the Isle of France, has a diversified economy, driven by agriculture, manufacturing, and services sectors. The country has undergone significant economic growth in recent decades, with a particular emphasis on becoming a hub for financial and business services. With its coastlines and beaches and cultural attractions,  The tourism industry is also a significant contributor to the island’s economy.

Reunion, formerly known as Bourbon, is a French overseas department located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar. As a department of France, Reunion is a part of the European Union and uses the Euro as its currency. The economy of Reunion is largely based on agriculture, with sugar cane being the dominant crop. In addition, the island is also known for its production of vanilla and rum. Like the Isle of France, tourism is also an important contributor to Bourbon’s economy.

The livre tournois was circulating in the Isles of France and Bourbon. French paper money, called livre tournois, circulated in France and Bourbon Isles from 1701 to 1720.
