The Hong Kong 5 Dollar banknote from 1973 is part of the 1935 - 1983 series. Its obverse side features the crowned Coat of Arms depicting a lion and unicorn rampant, a sailing ship at sea, a Chinese junk, and a seated allegorical woman. The reverse side features the stripped classical style 3rd HSBC headquarters building in Central District, Hong Kong, and a winged female angel with trumpet. The note measures 142 x 79 mm and does not contain any security threads however placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of a helmeted warriors head in profile and numeric 5.
